Celebrate International LEGO Day | Maqio Toys

The 28th of January is International LEGO Day, celebrating when the first patent for the famous plastic brick was filled. This day is a global celebration to honour how much LEGO impacted the world of toys, unleashing creativity and aspiring imagination in millions of children across the world. So how can you honour this day? This blog will cover various activities you can take part in.

Build A LEGO Masterpiece
Let your imagination run wild by building your own LEGO masterpiece, whether it is a detailed building, a cool car, or a replica of your favourite landmark, the possibilities are endless to show off your love of LEGO through building. You could even challenge yourself to try new techniques or build something outside of your comfort zone.

If you would like to try to build something following specific instructions and have a goal in mind, why not try to build one of the many LEGO sets we have here at Maqio Toys? We offer a wide range of sets suitable for various skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced master builder, we have a set suitable for everyone.

Host A LEGO Challenge
Organise a LEGO challenge with your family or friends to make building even more fun and competitive. First, decide if you want to do the challenge in teams or solo, do you want two teams to go head to head, or multiple participants to go against each other? Next, decide on a theme to make the challenge have a set goal.
Deciding on a theme will help give the participants ideas on what to aim for, it could be animal, space, medieval and many more - the possibilities are endless! And finally, decide on a winner, whose build is detailed and most unique.

LEGO Movie Marathon
In recent years, LEGO has branched out into the film industry. The company has released plenty of laugh-out-loud hits in the LEGO cinematic universe. So we suggest hosting a LEGO movie marathon featuring all your favourite LEGO movies.
Released in 2017, The LEGO Batman Movie is full of hilarious moments that will keep you laughing the whole time you are watching. The plot follows Batman, Robin and Barbara Gordan working together to foil The Joker's plans to take over Gotham City. With a star-studded cast, it’s a must-watch for all the family.

The LEGO Movie and its sequel, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, are instant classics. They allow anyone watching to relive their childhood memories, featuring a plot that could take place with any LEGO figures. Watching these two movies back to back in your marathon will be sure to bring a smile.

A final film you could add to your marathon list is the LEGO Ninjago Movie. The plot follows Lloyd, a young master builder, and his friends who are secret ninja warriors being led by Master Wu, fighting against the villainous Garmadon. Whilst also having a great deal of comedy, the film has an awesome LEGO action set to bring excitement to those who watch it.

All these movies above would make a great addition to your marathon. And with plenty of LEGO movies, there's something for everyone.
Whether you are building a masterpiece, hosting a thrilling challenge or sitting down to watch a hilarious movie, we are sure whatever you choose to do this International LEGO day will make the day one to remember.
